We live in an increasingly complex and interconnected world wherein the actions of a small group of people can surely help shape the course of things to come. At Eco Umbrella, we strongly believe that each individual has the ability to contribute and create change to help bridge differences, increase understanding, and "be the change" one "wants to see in the world."
Sustainability, Social Justice, Social Responsibility combined in true holistic perspective brings a richer dynamic towards solutions that truly seek to align our present actions with a core understanding of its affects on present and future generations. As Global Warming becomes a mainstream topic and the degradation of our planet comes into full view, let us not forget the inherent connection of our humanity towards each other and how poverty and the suffering of many in developing nations directly affects the issues of "sustainability" in our lexicon.
BRIDGE Global Girls Initiative - empowering "girls"
Statistics have shown that nearly 70% of children who do not have access to education in the developing world are girls. A vast majority of these young girls also become targets of illegal trades that dramatically alters the chances of their survival or ability to live a "normal" life. By creating a BRIDGE between the North & South through empowered connections, mentorship, and education, Eco Umbrella's Girls Initiative hopes to address the issues surrounding the disparaging numbers of young women who have no sustainable access to a better future. Combining a Holistic Perspective regarding the woven threads around internal and external "sustainability" and the empowerment of young women of all ages, we aim to bring positive change to the world.
